Lake Bohinj with its neighbourhood is for sure one of the most beautiful places in Slovenia, especially for nature lovers. There are a lot of different possibilities what to do there if you spend there a few days. You can just relax on some of many beaches around the lake, in summer months you can swim, you can hike around the lake, visit Savica Waterfall, visit Mostnica Gorge with Voje Valley, take a ride to Vogel where is great view of Lake Bohinj and Julian Alps ...

Mangart
Road to the Mangart Saddle is one of the most interesting Alpine roads in Slovenia. All the way you have nice views of Julian Alps. You must be carefull cause sheep can cross the road. During the drive you can stop beside the road and enjoy in views. When you come to the Mangart Saddle (more than 2000 m above sea level) you can park somewhere near road and continue to walk to Mangart summit. Choose Italian way if you are not so much experienced mountaineer. But anyway it takes about 2 hours to come to summit, so choose good shoes and don't go in bad weather.

Rakov Skocjan
Rakov Skocjan is a very interesting landscape park in Slovenia. There is educational natural trail where you can see 14 different places with information boards. Most attractive places are Little Natural Bridge, Big Natural Bridge, Tkalca Cave ... You need a few hours if you want to see whole trail. On the half of the way is Hotel Rakov Skocjan where you can drink or eat something. Most of the path is easy for walking, except you have to be careful around Small Natural Bridge where are most interesting places to see. Nearby attraction is also Lake Cerknica and a little further Sneznik Castle.

Smartinsko Lake
Smartinsko Lake is not as attractive as some other lakes in Slovenia like Bled or Bohinj but it is anyway worth to see especially if you visit Celje cause it is not far away. It's artificial lake with nice walking trails around lake that goes also on some galleries above lake and over floating bridge. If you like to row you can rent a boat or take a trip with bigger boat. There are also some places where you can drink or eat something so enough things to spend at least some time there.

Sneznik Castle
Sneznik Castle is a very romantic castle in the Inner Carniola. It's nice to walk on the path around the castle, watch pond with ducks but I suggest you to take time and also go on tour inside the castle. Sneznik Castle still has original equipment in all rooms so it is interesting to see that. Tour guide will also show you some old mechanisms that was installed for communication in the castle. So you will see how master called servants and how servants know in which room is master. Nearby is also some museum. And not so far away is periodic Slivnica Lake that is also interesting to see.

Vrsic
Vrsic is mountain pass in Julian Alps in Slovenia. During winter months is closed because of snow but in other seasons it is one of the most scenic routes in Slovenia. Vrsic is on the way from Kranjska gora to Bovec. On this way u can see a lot of interesting things like lake Jasna, Vrsic pass with Julian Alps around, river Soca with its spring, troughs, suspension bridges ... Around the mountain pass Vrsic there are three mountain huts so you can stop, eat or dring something or even sleep.
