There are many ski slopes for different skills and tracks for cross-country skiing. Latter is especially good in Ratece or Planica-Tamar Valley. In summer season there are very good possibilites for hiking, climbing, cycling, etc. Near Kranjska Gora is the highest pass in Slovenia, Vrsic that leads you to Trenta Valley with emerald river Soca. On the way to Vrsic you can stop at Lake Jasna. From there is avery scenic view of Julian Alps. Not so far from Kranjska Gora is Planica-Tamar Valley as it was previously already mentioned. In Planica are organized ski jumps in winter. In summer this valley is perfect for hiking.

Pericnik Waterfall

Pericnik Waterfall is one of the most famous waterfalls in Slovenia. It lies in the Triglav National Park in Vrata Valley where you have to turn in town Mojstrana. A few kilometers from Mojstrana is small parking area where you can leave the car and walk about 5-10 minutes to the Lower Pericnik Fall. A little further is also Upper Pericnik Fall. Both are nice and interesting but bigger is Lower Pericnik Fall that can be seen also from the road at parking area. It is possible also to walk below the waterfall.

If you like hiking, nature, mountains then you must visit it if you come in Slovenia. There are many different ways to come to the top of Triglav summit. The easiest way is from Pokljuka or Krma Valley. It takes about 6 hours in one direction so you have to start with your hike very early if you want to go there and back in one single day. But anyway you can sleep in some of many mountain huts around Triglav but be careful in summer when more people want same so it can be everything occupied. And be careful about weather especially in the afternoon when thunderstorms are more often in summer. At the top of Triglav is Aljaz Tower that is symbol of Triglav (see photo).

Mangart

Road to the Mangart Saddle is one of the most interesting Alpine roads in Slovenia. All the way you have nice views of Julian Alps. You must be carefull cause sheep can cross the road. During the drive you can stop beside the road and enjoy in views. When you come to the Mangart Saddle (more than 2000 m above sea level) you can park somewhere near road and continue to walk to Mangart summit. Choose Italian way if you are not so much experienced mountaineer. But anyway it takes about 2 hours to come to summit, so choose good shoes and don't go in bad weather.
