Vintgar Gorge is located near Bled and it is one of the most beautiful places in Slovenia. It is about 2 kilometers long gorge where you walk on galleries above the Radovna brook so trail is really attractive. At the end of the gorge is waterfall Sum. If you visit Bled you have to visit also Vintgar Gorge cause it is not so far away and it is worth of the visit. But you should know that Vingar Gorge is closed during winter time cause it can be danger because of stones falling down. So usually it opens in April but better to check before.

The Kolpa River

The Kolpa River is one of the most beautiful rivers in Slovenia. It lies mostly on the border between Slovenia and Croation in the south-east part of Slovenia. There you can find many activities to do, especially in the summer time. Most popular is rafting or kayaking. The river is quite calm so it is suitable for almost anyone even kids. From time to time you will come to some rapids but nothing very special. At some dams you should take a boat down by your hands. Other activities are swimming, camping, cycling, hiking, etc. There are many camping places that can be quite occupied in the high season cause some people prefer to go to Kolpa River than at seaside.

Iski vintgar

Iski vintgar is a beautiful place in Slovenia, not so far from Ljubljana. You can leave the car on the quite big parking area near lodge house Iski vintgar. If you like just short walk and do some refreshment in the cool water in hot summer days then I suggest you to stay on the left bank of river Iska and continue on the way to the end of the path. There you will see nice beach where is possible to swim. If you like more hiking then you have to cross the footbridge and continue on the path to the confluence of river Iska and Zaka. On the way there you will see Rocky solitary -Votli kamen (Hollow Stone). At the confluence you can also possibility to swim a little near another Rocky solitary named Skalni moz (Rocky man).

Mangart

Road to the Mangart Saddle is one of the most interesting Alpine roads in Slovenia. All the way you have nice views of Julian Alps. You must be carefull cause sheep can cross the road. During the drive you can stop beside the road and enjoy in views. When you come to the Mangart Saddle (more than 2000 m above sea level) you can park somewhere near road and continue to walk to Mangart summit. Choose Italian way if you are not so much experienced mountaineer. But anyway it takes about 2 hours to come to summit, so choose good shoes and don't go in bad weather.
